Precisely filter the fluorinated nylon and obtain granules of uniform size, preventing the access of carbonaceous residues present in the material.
This is the challenge faced by Filtec which, without compromising the existing structure of the system, from the dimensions to the length of the melt path, has designed and implemented a sophisticated filtration unit complete with die, specifically adapted for an offset axis pelletizer.
The choice made by Filtec to use Inconel 625 steel for the construction of the filtration unit was decisive in ensuring superior resistance to the high temperatures and potentially corrosive conditions in which the granulation process of fluorinated nylon may incur.
The benefits that the customer was able to take advantage of with the Filtec filtration unit emerged clearly: the ability to produce fluorinated nylon granules free of impurities and with uniform dimensions, without compromising the structure or functionality of the existing system. This represented a significant improvement in the quality of the product and the efficiency of the production process, allowing the customer to maintain the high standards required without having to invest in expensive infrastructure changes.
Filtec’s technical and professional approach in designing and implementing solutions tailored to the specific needs of the customer in this case has not only demonstrated its competence and its ability to provide tangible and lasting results in the polymer granulation sector, but has also shown the real possibility of adapting existing systems, thus managing to optimise costs and durations.
