A small, compact, easy-to-move system that can manufacture minimum production batches – Flitec’s Underwater UW LAB installation was created to meet limited production needs. It is therefore ideal to carry out lab tests and research on material – or for companies that need to produce small demonstration batches.
UW LAB is practically a ‘miniature’ of a regular production installation, having a production capacity of about 40 kg/h.
The granulating installation is divided into two areas:
The granulation area consists of a chamber where there are a perforated plate – die – and a rotating blade system.
It’s precisely the synchronization of the blade rotation with the melted plastic coming out from the die plate that ensures the right particle size of your end product.
After being cut, the resulting granule is transported through water to the downstream part where it is separated from water and – through the use of a centrifuge – dried off and carried to the drain.
Underwater UW LAB keeps characteristics unchanged – not only in terms of quality, but also versatility and efficiency – compared to Filtec’s regular Underwater Pelletizing Systems. However, Underwater UW LAB’s size is smaller, so that it can be easily moved and placed in different contexts.
UW LAB can be customized – the coupling flange can be designed according to the installation that precedes it. The same applies to the height of the axle. Die plates can be custom-made too, besides colouring for painted parts and electrical panel – according to voltages required by clients.
UW LAB is practically a ‘miniature’ of a regular production installation. Indeed, thanks to its small size – cm 170 x 150 x h 190 – and compact appearance, it can be placed in limited-size spaces. Its weight of about 500 kg makes it easy to transport.
Consumption for a production capacity of up to 40 kg/h ranges from only 13 to 20 kW.
