Bioplastic Production Systems

Biopolymers or bioplastics (BP) are polymers that are prepared through biological processes and make the end product highly biodegradable. They can be of synthetic origin, such as polymers derived from some polyesters, some polyesteramides, polyvinyl alcohol or plant materials, which are thus renewable, such as starch or mixtures of starch (corn or potato peelings), polylactic acid (PLA) derived from sugars, cellulose or lignin, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) et al.

Biopolymer Granulation Systems

Granulation systems made by Filtec can be used for biopolymer or bioplastic applications, such as bio-PE, bio-PP, bio-PET or PLA, PHA, PHB, starch-based plastics, and PBAT, PCL, PBS.

They are processed in a very easy way through underwater pelletizing systems.

Indeed, the advantage of underwater granulation is that pellets are cooled down particularly rapidly, and typical smell is minimized. Moreover, pellets’ spherical shape allows them to be dispensed more easily and precisely, as well as to make them more fluid.
