Screen changers

Filtec CA screen changers are a high-quality solution for melted material filtration in granulation lines, blown film extrusion, cast, flat head sheets, pipes and profiles. They are available in different versions depending on the product that needs to be filtered, heated by an electric or diathermic oil heater.

Melted material, which is pushed by an extruder or gear pump, flows in an internal channel crossed by a plate with appropriate filtering media (breaker), designed for insertion of filter screens with different characteristics depending on the desired degree of filtration.

Such plate, which is activated by a hydraulic power pack-controlled cylinder, slides into working positions. A dedicated probe detects pressure increase caused by the clogging of the filter screen and sends an alarm signal, which warns you about the need to change the position of that plate.

In some specific applications, it is possible to make use of elliptical filter media, which are specifically applied on twin screw extruders.
