Filtec responded to the customer’s request to obtain a pelletizing system that was able to handle products with flame retardants and stabilisers based on EVA, PE, PP, PS, some of which cannot come into contact with water.
For this reason, based on the different characteristics of the materials to be treated, it was essential that the chosen cutting system could work correctly and uniformly both in air and in water.
To meet these complex needs, Filtec has designed and built the watering pelletizing system GRO500NP, which offers the advantage of being able to be quickly transformed into different cutting systems and, therefore, of being highly flexible.
In detail, the first system is represented by the standard method, where the granule is cut in air and subsequently transported out of the pelletizing chamber using water for cooling.
The second cutting system has been customised to the customer’s needs, allowing the granule to be cut in air and transported outside the pelletizing chamber by means of air generated by an electric fan, always followed by cooling.
The third system, also customised, involves cutting the granule in air with sprayed water obtained through special sprayers, with transport outside the pelletizing chamber using the same sprayed air and cooling in the air.
Thanks to the GRO500NP watering pelletizing system, the benefits for the customer have been significant, starting from the elimination of the need to equip themselves with several dedicated machines up to the point of not having to change the system with every material change, saving time, productivity and money. This solution has optimised the efficiency of the production process, reducing costs and simplifying complex operational management.
