To give new life to waste granules from food trays and expanded polystyrene packaging originally dedicated to sales and transform them into materials that can be used for construction, packaging and other purposes.
To meet this challenge, Filtec started from filtered and gas-deprived granules obtained thanks to a first UW pelletizer, and then made a second totally customised one that allowed it to obtain, from the same product (PS), microgranules containing unexpanded pentane gas and masterbatch dye, keeping the gas imprisoned.
This innovative system has been designed by Filtec to maintain a constant pressure of 7 bar from the pelletizing chamber, where the microgranules are cut, to the conveying of the granules into the centrifuge, where instead the separation from water takes place.
The real benefits for the customer have been considerable: the possibility of recycling waste materials efficiently and obtaining new usable materials, reducing the environmental impact and costs associated with the purchase of new virgin materials. A hoped-for, thought-out and successful green transformation.
Filtec’s technological and highly specialised approach has made it possible to meet the specific needs of the customer, ensuring the production of microgranules containing unexpanded pentane gas and masterbatch dye. This solution has allowed the customer to effectively and sustainably reuse waste materials, obtaining new products suitable for various applications.
